Coastal Black is a 600 acre fruit winery located in Black Creek a town at the base of Mt. Washington on the outskirts of the beautiful Comox Valley. The four generations of Brennan family live and work together to produce fruit based wine, mead and raw honey. 80 acres of blackberries are grown on site, making them the largest cultivated blackberry farm in all of Canada. Additionally, 20 acres of blueberries and 20 acres of raspberries are used in their Fruit Wine selections.
The Blackberry table wine is the flagship wine of this vineyard. They also offer a Sparkling version of their fruit wines.
With the beekeeping side of the business, Coastal also was inspired to make mead from the Fireweed honey collected from the hives. Blueberry wine and honey is blended toether to make Blueberry Mead.
Coastal Black boasts a West Coast inspired Tasting Room to sample and purchase their wines.
As well, a new gourmet picnic style bistro is now open for the 2015 season! Featuring a wood-fired oven, the bistro boasts locally sourced meats, cheeses, fresh breads and outstanding artisan pizzas. With a beautiful patio area just outside the Tasting room, patrons can enjoy a bottle of wine with their bistro purchase.
