40 Knots Estate Winery & Vineyard was purchased by new owners Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig in 2014. The 24 acre property, including vineyard and winery, was move-in ready with a modern tasting room and outdoor events pavillion.
The vineyard was originally planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay & Merlot. Some of these varietals proved limited so as the vineyard matured and progressed the 18 acres evolved to now include Auxerrois, Siegerrebe, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Gamay Noir.
Focusing on small batch, high quality yield, Matt Dumayne is 40 Knots senior winemaker.
The 40 Knots Label is for estate-grown wines. A second label “Stall Speed” is for their Okanagan-grown wines.
